TASTING NOTES FROM THE CHEF
“Coquette is the first true gourmand we’ve released. In the past, we’ve flirted with edible notes, like the burnt sugar in the base of Love Bomb and the boozy rum heart of Whisky, but for Coquette, we set out on making something super edible. Passionfruit is the perfect note to play with for the perfume’s character: it’s unserious, it’s playful, and it’s as flirtatious as it gets, and what’s a coquette without those three qualities? When I was creating this scent, I was picturing Marie Antoinette as a modern day it-girl strutting down Santa Monica Boulevard with passionfruit syrup dripping down her brocade corset. I wanted the syrup to be sticky, the corset, silky, the cream, chantilly and the attitude, a little sassy. I made many versions of this; one with a smokier vanilla, one with a big dose of tart bergamot, more pink pepper, less sugar, more sugar, one with roses galore, but as soon as passionfruit became the star, it all made sense.”

FLAVOUR PROFILE
Passionfruit syrup. Stains on embroidered silk. Chantilly cream day dream.
A youthful and cheeky fragrance that asks you to embrace the naive romance of summer.
Don’t be afraid of sticky hands. Perhaps you associate this scent with a pavlova, or perhaps with summers spent outside under the shade of huge magnolia trees. Whatever your interpretation, you’ll be carried away by the magic of Coquette.
