And so the story starts with just an innocent rose (or so you’d think)...
The Tale

A reformulation of the original Dirty Rose that was discontinued a few years ago, this new incarnation of Dirty Rose is dialled up a notch and we’re just a tad obsessed over here at Lore.
If you’re not familiar with Heretic Parfum, they are pioneers of natural perfumery who make functional fragrance that come with plant derived benefits. Their ‘Dirty’ Collection is all about taking the more common notes seen in perfumery and turn them right on their heads. Roll them around in the dirt, rough them up a little, get a little drunk with them and let mischief ensue - you get the picture!
With Heretic fragrances, clean beauty has never been so dirty.
Dirty Rose is a fragrance that explores all of the olfactory facets of the rose. It’s exactly what we want for a sultry yet pure and still very wearable rose. It strikes the perfect balance between a pretty, innocent garden rose and a more sensual and suggestive deep red, night-blooming rose. Imagine it’s been a steamy, hot and humid day; there are little beads of sweat on the rose’s petals and there’s the anticipation and relief of the sun setting and the cool of the evening moving in.
The fresh, green, bright juiciness in the opening of Dirty Rose is the rose in the day time - there’s a crisp sweetness from the spices that mingle deliciously with the fruity blackcurrant note. It smells like dappled sunlight illuminating a rose about to bloom. As the sun sets and the fragrance wears, we move from light to dark, and the deeper, darker resins cocoon the rose and as she comes into full bloom. Our sultry, luscious rose comes to (fragrant) life. The warm earthier notes of resins and vanilla begin to shine on and swathe the rich, red rose petals. We get sweetness, we get earthiness, we get bright juiciness and just a hint of powder.
This is a scent of a rose, or a person, who has really come into themselves and has become confident in who they are. It’s sultry, it’s strong, it’s long-lasting and unapologetic. What a way to start the 12 Days of Spritzmas!
